In Islam, getting to know someone for marriage has a purpose and a direction. Rabta asks you to state it: when you hope to marry, how long you would like to talk before meeting, and how involved you want your families to be.

When both people have said this upfront, conversations become simpler. There is less guessing, and less time spent with someone whose plans are years away from yours.

The path, step by step

• Profile: share your story, your faith, your plans and three to six photos. Verify with a selfie if you like.
• Discover: filter by what matters and like the people who stand out. A mutual like is a match.
• Connect: a new match has 72 hours for a first message. Keep up to five conversations at a time.
• Know each other: chat, send voice notes and call on voice or video inside the app.
• Family: bring in your families when you are ready, and take the next step together.

Keep it halal

Rabta is designed to keep things respectful. Conversations are private, calls happen inside the app, and the community guidelines ask every member to keep conversations modest and to involve family when ready.
